You can easily bring intouch notifications via MMS or SMS automatically into your workflow or customer journey.
Connectivity and integration to eCommerce and customer automation management systems are available through a comprehensive set of REST API’s and Webhooks. We recognise the value in enabling customised communications to be automatically sent, based on the organisation's defined customer journey “triggers”.
Setting up Automatic Triggers enables the automation of an MMS or SMS to be sent from intouch, based on a specific event(s) that intouch is listening for, based on API calls from your CRM system/eCommerce platform. The backend integration (your CRM and intouch talking to each other) will need to be put in place and tested in order for intouch to deliver the required response type; MMS or SMS directly to your customers mobile.
Once that backend integration is set up and tested, this is how you Configure the Trigger(s) in intouch.
1. Go to the Functions section and select Create Trigger
2. Fill in your Internal Trigger Reference and a Parameter Delay. The Internal Trigger Reference, we recommend naming the Trigger something similar or the same as the event name. Only alphanumeric characters are supported with the exception of an 'underscore' and a 'dash' i.e. 28daysafter_10-MMSpromo
3. The Delay Parameter lets you delay in seconds the time to wait before sending the MMS or SMS. It is by default set to "0"
4. Click Next
5. Use the arrows to open up to the correct folder with your Data Extension you wish to use. Once loaded, map the tags required with your Data Extension file.
6. Select from the drop-down menu if you want to Auto Respond with an MMS or SMS
7. The Subject only needs to be completed for MMS. The upper limit of 20 characters for the Subject and only alphanumeric characters are supported.
8. The Message is where you enter the content for the trailing SMS component of the MMS or the SMS. You can use these tags to draw data in the content of the SMS if this data is made available within the event data sent from your CRM or eCommerce platform.
Reminder:
For MMS: we recommend an upper limit of 255 characters for the Trailing SMS component of the MMS.
For SMS: there is an upper limit of 160 characters for 1 SMS or 306 for a double SMS.
9. The Detailed SMS View, highlights if any special characters or emoji are used, intouch doesn't support the use of special characters or emoji's as we can't guarantee how the recipient's phone will display them.
10. You can use the Default Opt-Out message or untick to include a Custom Opt-Out. If you choose to use a Custom Opt-Out, you have to tick "The above opt-out message meets the ACMA requirements".
12. Once all these steps are completed you can just click on "Save" to create the trigger.
13. Next step is to verify it works.
14. You can view all your created triggers from the Function Summary page under the tab for Triggers. You can also Edit your triggers from this Trigger Summary area.
